Bringing the “Hometown” Back to Lansing!
Last year’s 2nd Annual event, the Lansing Autumn Fest was well received with great enthusiasm. The fest brought out young and old, current and former residents and visitors from area communities for three days of fun at two central downtown locations, Fox Pointe and Park Plaza.
There will again be a kick-off event on Friday night with beer, brats and burgers served up by the Coppermuggers. Entertainment will include Alpine Thunder at 5pm on the Main Stage. They will be followed at 8pm by The Unstoppables. Proceeds from the evening will go to L.A.C.E. to fund next year’s fest. L.A.C.E. is the not-for-profit organization that runs Lansing Autumn Fest and additional community events throughout the year, including Cruise Nights.
Saturday and Sunday are packed with activities to make the 2014 festival bigger, better and even more family-friendly. There will be the addition of a second staging area in the Clock Tower Activity Zone with entertainment for families. Entertainment will include Big Top Band. BigTop is a Chicagoland / Northwest Indiana band providing an eclectic selection of past & present music. Additional activities include a video gaming truck, children’s games, hay rides, cookie decorating, scarecrow making, pumpkin decorating, temporary tattoos, face painting, hair coloring, putting golf game, inflatable jump house, whiffle ball game. Saturday night there will also be a movie in the park, weather permitting.
